About Us

Our mission

Our mission is to provide safe and welcoming housing to individuals and families in need. We prioritize mothers with children, refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants in need of housing.

Our vision

We echo the words of Catholic Worker co-founder Peter Maurin, as we are trying to “create a world where it is easier for people to be good.”

Who We Are

We are a group of people, inspired by CW founders Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin, who have seen the good that can come about by just getting started. We are encouraged by Catholic Workers doing similar work across the Midwest, and we do not want to miss opportunities right in front of us. We feel called to take care of one another according to principles of personalism, doing what we can to personally help others in need, knowing we too receive love, care, and dignity in reciprocity of our work.

Our Board of Directors

As a 501c3 non-profit, we have a board of directors who is responsible for setting the organization's mission, strategy, and goals. We meet regularly to divvy out some of the day-to-day responsibilities for making sure that our various efforts can be carried out, bills can be paid, and that the good work that we do can continue well into the future.
